Our story
A boutique approach to live event music
Classic Music Events is the go-to destination for sourcing professional musicians across South Africa. We specialise in providing live music for weddings, corporate functions, private celebrations, and film and television productions — pairing the right musicians with the right moment, every time.
We are not a directory and we are not a booking machine. We are a small, considered team who care deeply about how your event sounds and feels. That means honest advice, seamless coordination, and musicians of genuine calibre.
Our repertoire spans classical string quartets and soloists, jazz and swing bands, marimba and brass ensembles, acoustic duos and professional DJs — all tailored to your style, your guests and your event flow.
Whether you are planning an intimate ceremony in the Winelands, a gala in Sandton or a beachfront celebration in Umhlanga, we bring the same dedication to making your music unforgettable.

A Note from Classic Music Events Owner, Pam
Classic Music Events is deeply personal to me. As a classically trained musician, I moved from the stage into event management so that I could give others the same goosebumps that live music has always given me.
From your initial enquiry to the final note on the day, I am personally involved in every booking. I curate the musicians, coordinate the technical detail, and make sure the music aligns beautifully with your vision.
We work only with highly experienced, professional musicians, and we believe in quality over volume — thoughtful curation rather than a long list of acts. To me, music is never simply background. It is the emotional heartbeat of your celebration.

We had the absolute privilege of having Classic Music Events, with the incredibly talented violinist Siobhan, perform at our daughter’s wedding on the 16th of December, and her performance was nothing short of magical.

I booked the harpist Roelien for my wedding ceremony because I wanted a very specific song played on a harp when I walked down the aisle. She played it so beautifully. It was exactly how I imagined it. Without me asking, she played the same song again after the guests left and it was just me and my husband walking out. I’m so glad she did that because my husband was so nervous, he didn’t hear the song the first time she played it. I never got a chance to say thank you to her and I want her to know something so small made a huge impact on our special day and I’ll never forget it.
